Tooth Goggles (2021)
These were a commission for a LARP character costume piece, so they needed to be sturdy enough to weather hours of wear on camping trips. The goggles are completely modular (base goggles, vision mesh, sculpted mouth pieces are all separate pieces attached with velcro) in order to make the vision mesh removable/ interchangeable.
Base goggles: EVA foam shaped with a heat gun, covered in a layer of softer foam for cushioning. Nose bridge piece is clear Worbla (thermoplastic). Gaskets have pink fabric sewn over the top, including sewed loops and a clear detachable bra strap for the band.
Gums: sculpted with foam clay, sealed with white Plasti-Dip
Teeth: pre-made acrylic sets of teeth + extra snaggle teeth sculpted out of thermoplastic, tinted slightly with yellow food coloring.
Paint: hand painted with acrylics, and finished with a gloss acrylic sealant.
Vision mesh: industrial outdoor plastic mesh covered in a layer of black chiffon for extra obscuring (I also made a pair with just the chiffon for nighttime usage)
